Natalie Chung

Geography and Environmental Change Advisor

Natalie Chung is an environmentalist and social innovator born and raised in Hong Kong. Inspired by a polar explorer since young, she co-founded environmental education organization V’air at the age of 18 to promote sustainable local tourism. Working as World Bank consultant, UN SDG Coordinator and World Economic Forum Global Shaper further expanded Natalie’s capacity in youth empowerment, policy advocacy and impact assessment.

Driven by her commitment to address climate change, Natalie participated in the COP25 United Nations Climate Change Conference. In 2019, she was appointed by the Hong Kong Government as a youth member at the Council for Sustainable Development to deliver long-term decarbonisation public engagement for the city. She also serves the Task Force on Promotion of Environmental Protection during COVID-19 Pandemic.

Natalie holds a Geography and Resource Management bachelor’s degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is currently pursuing MPhil in Environmental Change and Management at University of Oxford as The Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholar. She has published two books on sustainable tourism with a renowned publisher in Hong Kong.
